Charizard Pokémon cards: Charizard ex, Mega Charizard X & Y

Charizard is the most collected Pokémon in the Trading Card Game, and a Charizard card is often the most valuable in its set. Charizard ex

Charizard ex is the Scarlet & Violet-era Charizard, printed in several sets. The best known are the Charizard ex Special Illustration Rare from 151 and the shiny Charizard ex from Paldean Fates. Like every Pokémon ex, it gives up two Prize cards when Knocked Out.

Mega Charizard X ex and Mega Charizard Y ex

Mega Evolution returned in 2025, and Charizard has both of its Mega forms as Mega Evolution Pokémon ex:

• Mega Charizard X ex (the black-and-blue Mega Charizard, called Mega Lizardon X ex in Japan) headlines the Japanese set Inferno X, released in English as Phantasmal Flames. People also search for it as "M Charizard ex X": Mega cards from the older XY era were written "M Charizard-EX", while the new ones are named Mega Charizard X ex.
• Mega Charizard Y ex has a gold Hyper Rare, which we stock Near Mint.

A Mega Evolution Pokémon ex gives up three Prize cards when Knocked Out, so it's a big play in the game as well as a chase card.

Shiny Charizard cards

A shiny Charizard is black instead of orange. The best-known shiny Charizard cards are Shining Charizard from Neo Destiny (2002), the Charizard-GX from Hidden Fates' Shiny Vault, and the shiny Charizard ex Special Illustration Rare from Paldean Fates (Japanese: Shiny Treasure ex).

What is the Charizard UPC?

"UPC" is short for Ultra-Premium Collection, an English premium box with booster packs, promo cards and accessories. The Charizard Ultra-Premium Collection (2022) is one of the most collected of them, and sealed copies now sell well above their original price. It's an English product sold by Australian retailers when in stock; we stock Japanese Charizard cards and sealed Japanese boxes.
